Facility Reviews
What a waste!
A fantastic pool built for the Olympics, but half of it is shallow (with a moveable floor half way down). Only two lanes are open to the public, so it's crowded; and the locals seem to consider the end of the shallow end / beginning ofthe deep end as a virtual wall, and all stop there to rest and chat! Right in the middle of the lane! Blocking the entire width! NOT moving! A 50m all-deep pool is turned into 2 lanes of 20m…

There are a minimum of two lanes for lap swimming during open swim sessions and up to 10 lanes, depending on the time and day of week. Swimming commences on the hour and everyone is required to clear the pool at 50 minutes past the hour for rest and stretching exercises led by a lifeguard. Monthly memberships are available for KRW 80,000. Registration and monthly renewals held the last week of each month.

On the Saturday afternoon I went, the centre lanes were generally faster but there's no organisation and people seemed not to understand that they should let a faster swimmer past or move to another lane. Nobody moved out of the lane but, after 20 minutes of my shooting past slower swimmers, things did settle down and most swimmers would give way. The other lanes looked more chaotic and I imagine it varies day-to-day. (I'm no Phelps, I swam an average 1:45/100m in the 50m pool.)
Given so many lanes, it wouldn't be hard to put up some boards about expectations of average 100m times but I don't imagine they'll change.
The pool floor was set to a depth of about four feet for the whole 50m length. The 50 minutes per hour swimming with a mandatory ten minute rest period is still running. The diving pool was unused but appeared open.
Bring a cap.
It's generally a bit of a tired facility but acceptable. I would happily swim here again.
