Facility Reviews
This is an amazing facility - brand new and state of the art. The main, 50-meter pool has a moveable floor - great for lap swimming. The lap lanes are configured the same as the old pool, some reserved for instruction, etc. The multi-purpose pool is warmer than regular pool and also has an adjustable-depth floor; it was set to 1.2-meter depth, when I was there. The new locker room and changing facilities are nice and kept up well. I swam this pool a couple of times at lunch time on weekday afternoons, and it wasn't too crowded (3-4 people per lane).

It's a nice facility but, like all Hong Kong public pools, very poor for lap swimming. It's incredibly crowded, especially during the seven-week annual closure of nearby Morrison Hill Indoor Swimming Pool. Only ever two lap lanes, both with incredibly slow 'swimmers', making it impossible even to swim 50m in one go. There are frequent, unscheduled closures due to "vomitus" in pool - two in the last three weeks. The smaller multi-purpose pool is booked most nights by groups, meaning even more crowding in the two lap lanes in the 50m pool. And they allow coaches to train kids in the two lap lanes, making swimming even more impossible. Kickboards are banned, as in all HK pools, so kiss your planned kick set goodbye.
